Manuel Monreale nel suo blog post On Browser,s AI, and the web, parla del fatto che alcune compagnie stiano trattando le pagine web come meri strumenti da dare in pasto all'AI, e che c'è il pericolo che questa diventerà il modo delle persone non tecniche per interfacciarsi con internet.

E dice, con rammarico, che lui è scettico riguardo a questo modo di prendere informazioni da internet, per un motivo ben specifico:

"But more importantly, there’s something else about this whole idea of chatting-with-a-computer-to-get-answers-from-the-web that I find incredibly off-putting: the complete lack of potential for serendipity. Clicking on links and landing on random sites has the potential to take me in unexpected directions. And also the web is filled with creative people who have incredibly interesting sites from a visual point of view. All that is absent in a chat-based world and that’s something I just can’t personally accept for myself. Feels like such a boring way to browse the web.

Mi ritrovo perfettamente in quanto lui scrive: anche a me piace "perdermi" nei link che portano da un blog personale ad un altro, scoprendo cose più o meno interessanti e apprezzando la bellezza delle nostre unicità.

Ecco, se dovessi descrivere il motivo per il quale mi sto appassionando così tanto al mondo dei blog personali e al curare il mio feed RSS, riporterei parola per parola questo suo paragrafo.
